What is Anti-Social Behaviour?
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) includes a variety of behaviour covering a wide range of selfish and unacceptable activity that can blight the quality of community life.
Examples include but not restricted to:
- · Nuisance neighbours
- · Rowdy and nuisance behaviour
- · Vandalism, graffiti and fly-posting
- · People dealing and buying drugs on the street
- · People dumping rubbish and abandoning cars
- · Begging and anti-social drinking
Anti-social behaviour can impact upon an individual, a family, the community and the town as a whole. It can make life unpleasant and create an environment where serious crime can take hold.
Southend Crime Disorder Reduction Partnership is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and has a dedicated team called SMAART (Southend Multi Agency Anti social behaviour Response Team). This team comprises of officers from Southend Police, Southend-on-Sea Council and South Essex Homes
