Southend Domestic Abuse Forum is a multi-agency partnership, bringing together key organisations working in Southend to coordinate a Borough-wide approach and response to domestic abuse, the adults and children involved, and the professionals working with them.

The partnership structure is set out below; if you would like to know more about any of the groups, or would like to find out how to become a member, please email domesticabuseforum@southend.gov.uk.

Domestic Abuse Forum

  • Wide membership
  • Networking and information sharing
  • Updates on services and developments
  • Training
  • Guest speakers
  • Workshops and sharing of best practice
  • Feedback from members for Action/Strategy Group

Members:

  • Anyone who wishes to be involved

Domestic Abuse Action Group

  • Focus on operational issues and activities – from the Group, the Forum, the Strategy Group
  • Co-ordination of services
  • Co-ordination of training
  • Co-ordination of Forum agendas
  • Responsible for the delivery of awareness week and promotional activities
  • Development and delivery of an action plan
  • Support implementation of strategic projects
  • Regular reporting to Strategy Group

Members:

  • Operational leads from key agencies and departments in Southend

Domestic Abuse Strategy Group

  • Strategic leadership for domestic abuse in the partnership
  • Responsible for the strategy implementation and monitoring successful implementation
  • Securing resources and funding
  • Co-ordination of working groups for specific projects
  • Establishing reporting and escalation arrangements, including to CDRP
  • Co-ordinating partner response to significant risks and issues
  • Oversight of the work of the Action Group and Forum
  • Accountable for the overview of activities to deliver LAA targets
